Initially, I notice periodic staining under the BrewStation Deluxe. There is a hot plate integrated into the bottom of the pot, so the heat was probably the catalyst that started the failure. That's way I gave it three stars. No glass carafes to break and order was the selling point for me, but eventually this thing will leak all over your counter. I have owned mine for some years now, and this is the best coffee maker that I have ever owned. Anyway, Hamilton Beach will have a winner if they fix this design flaw. Hey Hamilton Beach, why not use a plastic weld or create a one-piece design.). I could see water dripping from the bottom (a seam actually) of the 2 piece pot design (The bottom is apparently glued to the sides and the glue joint failed in a couple of spots.
I wonder who was the brilliant engineer that though this design up. The issue was the actual pot where the hot coffee is housed. It does wonders with SB Breakfast Blend. (3rd grade science. Most things expand and contract when they are heated and cooled, and plastic is no exception.especially if it's part of a glued assembly that houses a heat source and a liquid that can stain expensive counters.). Then, I arrived home from work one day to find coffee all over my counter. I know this because I filled the pot with water and held it over the sink for a couple of minutes. Maybe that person was hitting the frat house parties with me and not hitting the books. I'm switching back to glass and putting this thing in the closet for now.

People without physical limitations don't realize how difficult it can be to lift a pot of coffee and pour it without spilling and burning themselves or others. I have fibromyalgia, my son has severe MS. We have found this coffee maker to be wonderful for us. With this product we can enjoy a small degree of independence. We've had our maker for almost two years, it is on probably 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and I have nothing but praise for it, no problems whatsoever.
This is our second Brewstation and it didn't last a full year. It seems to be leaking coffee onto the counter but we've been unable to figure out where it is coming from. For the price it should last longer then it did.
Now a year and a half later the new tank is leaking. We love this coffeemaker but it no longer makes sense financially to maintain it. Hamilton Beach sent some replacement rubber seals but they didn't fix the problem. After using it for about a year the tank began to leak. A new tank (free but we paid for shipping $8) fixed the problem. The only solution is to buy a replacement tank at a cost of $25. This is a fairly pricey machine to begin with--I'm not paying $25 a year on top of that to keep it going.
